Hello, my name is Florin Cofar, and I’m a dentist. I’m also deeply involved in education, with a primary focus on digital dentistry for the past ten years.
Why I Like DGSHAPE
The main reason I prefer DGSHAPE is its reliability. We’ve used several systems, and DGSHAPE is probably one of the most reliable on the market. It’s simple, user-friendly, and aligns perfectly with my philosophy of what I want from a machine.
For instance, I don’t like hybrid systems; I prefer specialized machines like the DWX Series. I also favor smaller machines that allow for scalability according to production needs. In short, DGSHAPE is a great fit for our milling system philosophy.
Digital Dentistry
At the core of digital dentistry is planning—this is clear. But beyond planning, you need to translate that plan into a physical result, and this is where milling comes in. This is why we use a lot of monolithic restorations; I want to achieve a 1:1 correspondence between the digital plan and the physical outcome.
I believe we are at a great point in terms of material selection, and it’s clear that technology is continuously evolving. I expect the range of materials to expand, technology to become even more user-friendly, and overall improvements to continue—whether granular in areas that are already advanced or more significant in others.
I currently use the DWX-42W and DWX-52D, both wet and dry milling machines. Our approach has always been to choose products we genuinely like, even though we are involved in education and engage in commercial partnerships. We start with a product we trust and then build partnerships around that. It’s important to stay congruent with our values, which is why our relationship with DGSHAPE developed naturally—we liked the machine first, and then we formed a partnership that led to educational collaboration. I’m happy to support, and be supported by, a company whose products I truly believe in.
At the core of it, I love the DWX product line.
My best regards to Valeria and the entire DGSHAPE crew.
